Yes, you are welcome to hire just a boat. Browse our boats and choose the one that suits your trip.

Search for “Furrehytter” or your cabin or apartment's address in your preferred map app. All accommodation is on Fåravegen; our main office is at Fåravegen 45. Start navigation and follow the directions. Need more help? See “Can you explain the route step by step?”

By car, travel via Judaberg and take the ferry to Helgøy. From there, follow signs to Furrehytter or navigate to Fåravegen 45.

Without a car, plan your journey by express boat to Nesheim or Helgøy. Check connections and current departure times in Kolumbus journey planner.

See driving routes from Kristiansand, Stavanger, Oslo and Larvik, ferry timetables and the last leg to Furrehytter.

From Stavanger Airport, take a taxi or Flybussen to Stavanger city centre and continue to Fiskepiren. From there, take an express boat to Nesheim on Bjergøy.

Plan your connection and check departure times with Kolumbus. For the final leg from Nesheim to Furrehytter, check bus services on Sjernarøyane, or contact us before your trip.

Although we hope you'll feel well looked after, Furrehytter is not a hotel: we rent out self-catering cabins and apartments. Please bring everyday consumables for your stay. Our Norwegian packing reminder, HOTVOKS, stands for the following essentials:

Hand soap, dishwasher tablets, toilet paper, laundry detergent, washing-up liquid, shower gel and rubbish bags.

Everyone is welcome, including four-legged guests. Please keep pets off the furniture indoors and under control outside. Be considerate of your neighbours and remember that you may encounter sheep and cows nearby.

Yes! You can borrow them free of charge. They hang in “Svålå”. All we ask is that you hang them neatly back in place after use, ready for the next guest.

We have a small selection of basic fishing rods and other tackle to borrow. Check Furrehytter Minimarket.

Fish must ONLY be cleaned at the fish-cleaning table by the concrete quay. Cleaning fish inside or beside a cabin or apartment is not permitted under any circumstances.

The parts of the fish you do not want to eat should go back into the sea. Please take them beyond the sound before disposing of them, so gulls and other scavengers are not attracted to the accommodation and car park.

We probably have it! All cabins and apartments should have what you need, but if something has mysteriously disappeared — or was never there — we are likely to have a spare.

We have a limited number of high chairs and travel cots for hire. Contact us and we will help you arrange it.

Forgot to pack them? No problem — you can rent them from us. Come and find us or send a message to +47 47 661 662, and we'll help you out.

We sell firewood in the woodshed at the end of Cabin 5 and in “Svålå”, the passage between the concrete quay and the waterfront cabins.

There is a QR code on the wall in your accommodation. Scan it to connect!

We don't normally serve food ourselves, but we work closely with Sjernarøytunet. If you would like a meal at Sjernarøytunet or delivered to your cabin, we will gladly try to arrange it. For a small snack, there is a minimarket on the stage.

Yes. Every cabin has a TV connected to an aerial, a satellite receiver and a Chromecast. The aerial provides NRK channels, and the satellite receiver offers mainly German channels from Astra. Chromecast lets you stream from your own services. Most streaming apps support it: connect your phone to the same network as the Chromecast and start casting.

Yes. There is a shared laundry room on the quay, at the end of L11. Dry your laundry just outside or on your own terrace. The room doubles as a playroom with a small selection of toys, free for guests to use. Please leave everything as you would wish to find it, and let us know if anything breaks so we can replace it.

Read a book! Seriously — or not so seriously. Reading brings new perspectives, keeps your mind active and can be a lovely way to unwind.
